Des Moines fintech LenderClose today announced the company has welcomed Samantha Paxson to the company's board of directors, effective April 22, 2020. Paxson's appointment brings LenderCloses total board membership to six.

"Samantha's counsel and expertise will add an important layer of thought leadership to the board and reinforce our commitment to an exceptional borrower experience," said Omar Jordan, CEO and founder of LenderClose. "Her knowledge of the challenges and opportunities faced by community financial institutions, coupled with her call for leaders to be bold in their pursuit of growth and evolution, dovetails nicely with our vision for the industry."

Paxson is chief experience officer for CO-OP Financial Services, and architect of the company's go-to-market brand and customer experience strategy. She is an accomplished speaker and founder of CO-OP THINK, an innovation content platform that just this year went virtual for an audience of 2,500+ credit union leaders.

A respected credit union industry advocate, Paxson shares the credit union difference with the greater consumer and business marketplace by contributing content to national media, such as the Huffington Post and Forbes. She is regularly asked by credit union leaders to consult with their teams on strategies ranging from human-based leadership and digital transformation to payments and experience design.

"Earning a members primary financial relationship in the digital era requires credit union leaders who are bold and decisive, unafraid to get in the fray with so-called disruptors," said Paxson. "The LenderClose team is comfortable moving fast to help credit unions make positive, transformational shifts in the way they serve members. For that reason, and so many others, I'm really excited to be a part of this team."

The credit union movement continues to benefit from Paxson's thought leadership and volunteerism across a spectrum of organizations. Her past governance leadership has included serving as an advisor to the OpenIDEO Challenge on Financial Empowerment, the CUNA Marketing Awareness Group, the National Credit Union Foundation board and the CHOC CU4K board. In addition to her service to LenderClose, she currently serves on the boards of USCCU and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Credit Unions For Kids.

"Champions of the credit union movement, like Samantha, make excellent advisors for LenderClose," said Ben Rempe, LenderClose COO. "These are leaders that push for continuous improvement mainly for the benefit of the end user. Improving the borrower experience is a chief ambition of our team, and Samanthas passion for people-centric financial services will surely keep us on track."
